Back Home...

...for now. We finally got back home about 3am on Saturday morning. We spent Saturday and Sunday with our parents and now it is back to regular old life for us. Well, with one exception... the decision has been made for us to move to Texas. The company Dwayne works with has asked him to move to one of their offices and we spent last week in Texas checking out the neighborhoods and towns to see if we would like it down there. It is a very nice area, so it looks like we might be making it our home. Of course, this is all dependent on us selling our home here. This was not an easy decision. I have lived in this area pretty much my whole life, I thought it would be really hard to even think about moving, but I have not had any anxious feelings with this decision. Dwayne and I have been praying about this since February when the company first brought up the subject. We did not tell many people, just because we did not know what would come of it. Of course, my oldest kiddo announced it at youth last night, so many people will already know. And I know my other kids are going to be telling people today at school, so I thought I better announce it to some adults with a few details. We have no plans to move before this school year is done. We are going to start looking into what we need to do to sell the house. So, if anyone knows anyone at all that might be interested in a 4 bedroom, 1 and 1/2 bathrooms house with a huge 4 car garage, let us know!

Where did the week go?

Sari as Cinderella's wicked step-mother.

This week has gone by in a whirlwind...or at least in a rain storm. This past weekend was my oldest kiddos's school musical. After working so hard and doing a wonderful job at Friday night's performance, she woke up Saturday morning very sick. She missed her last hunter's education class with her brother and her grandpa, but she stayed home and rested the best she could. I went off to enjoy my very last Saturday night...it was hard for me, and my hubby took a sick Sari to her Saturday night performance of the musical. He ended up staying with her, because she was just so sick. She was a real trooper and made it through the performance only throwing up once before it started...that is pretty good. She had to stay home on Sunday while the rest of us headed out to my in-laws for our Easter get together. She was feeling better, but still had a horrible sore throat. So, we kept her home all day on Sunday and no youth that Sunday night and then off to the doctor on Monday just to be told what we already knew...Strep throat. Two days home from school to let her medicine kick in and then back to reality for her on Wednesday.

I will be spending today and tomorrow preparing for our trip out of town for spring break. I don't think we have ever gone anywhere over spring break. I have pictures of the kids sledding over spring break, but that was just over at my parent's house...lol. We are all looking forward to a good trip. Poor Dwayne will still be working through it, but the kids and I get to relax and have fun. We are going to Texas where the company Dwayne works for has an office. He gets to go to the office everyday and we get to explore...sounds like a fair trade.

I hope everyone has a great week. I am sure I will have MANY pictures to post after this week.

Reading the Bible...

I have stated before that I am working my way through the bible. I started a 90 days journey through the whole bible in February of 2007 and I am just now in Job. Obviously, I am way behind, but I am still going on, because I really want to read the bible all the way through, no matter how long it takes. Anyways...why is the book of Job so long? What exactly is being said in the whole book, does it really take that many chapters to say what is being said? I finished chapter 32 last night and I was wondering why I have such a hard time understanding what is being said. Then I realized that at different points in my Christian walk I have better understood different parts of the bible. It seems like I will finally get what is said this book, this chapter, or this verse depending on where I am in my walk with God. So, this all got me to anticipating the day that I will understand Job. There will be a place in my walk, there will be something going on and I will read Job and it will make sense to me. I am very thankful to God for giving us His living word to guide us through our lives.

On a another note, it has been announced that Saturday night services will be finished on March 22nd. Unfortunately, I will miss this last Saturday night service. I really hate to miss it, since I was there for the very first Saturday night and I have spent so many Saturday nights at our church. I have very much enjoyed Saturday night church. I love the music, I really thank Bruce Grimes for the wonderful selections of music he has picked out over the year. There have been quite a few nights that I would have a hard time sitting still while doing the power point for the music. Oh my, so many times I would forget to go to the next slide because I was so into the music. Poor Bruce has had to deal with me...lol. Not to mention poor Dennis who had to listen to me sing. I hate to see Saturday nights go, but because we do not have enough volunteers in the A/V department it is probably for the best. I will now be able to help out on Sundays and that will be greatly needed for the volunteers on Sunday who have not had a break in a very long time, so that does make me very excited about this new move.

AG Days

My kiddos and I enjoy visiting AG days at the Delaware County Fair grounds. We try to go every year, but it does not always work out for us. This week is pretty packed with something going on every night for my kids EXCEPT last night, so we headed into Muncie. After seeing the gas prices last night, it might be our last trip into Muncie for a while. I love the fact that even my older kiddos still enjoy going. I think my kids would have loved being raised on a farm...well, until they actually had to do farm work.

Tobi and Claudia pet a bunny.

Sari pets a piggy.

Brighton shows Tobi how to work an old fashion water pump.

Dora shows us all how to milk a cow.

Just some interesting facts...

Just thought I would post a few interesting (or just plain weird) things about myself today.
  1. I love long hair. I have cut my hair short, maybe 4 times in my lifetime. I don't know why I am like this, I just really like having long hair. Which can be a pain in the summer time, because it gets so hot.
  2. I do not like make up. Never have, never understood it, probably never will. You can pity my poor girls now.
  3. I play games on my little girl's webkins account to "earn" them money. Actually, I just like playing the games...it is just good for them that it earns them money, makes me feel better about the time I waste playing...lol.
  4. I love to read, but I don't do it very often, because once I start a book, I really have a hard time putting it down until it is read. Which means, I usually ignore my whole family, the house becomes a huge mess, Dwayne starts wondering where his wife went, and the kiddos have nothing to eat.
  5. I very much enjoy cooking, unless it is in the middle of the summer. I usually stop cooking around June and don't start back up again about late August or early September. You can ask my kiddos, they get very tired of cold meat sandwiches, mac and cheese, and hot dogs.
  6. I love to bake, in the winter. We went through one season of nothing but homemade bread. Sari's friends felt very sorry for her.
  7. I love to scrapbook. My one scrapbook partner moved to Georgia, so my scrapbooking days have been slow, but I am promised a new scrapbooking partner as soon as we can actually get together to scrapbook. (Right, Tonya?)
  8. I really like action movies. I like chic flicks ok, but I really like a good action film. I don't really like vampire movies, but I will watch them with my hubby.
  9. I like to sew. I have made quilts and clothing in the past. I also enjoy crocheting sometimes, it can be kind of boring, and I enjoy making hemp jewelery, which I need to make more of again soon.
  10. I love music. All types of music. I can listen to just about anything, although I am getting very tired of some of today's very trashy music, and even some of the older trashy music. I love to just listen all day to music and I love to sing along, even though I am a very bad singer, just ask my kiddos.

Spelling Bee

Great Job to my son. He placed 2nd in the county spelling bee on Thursday night and then went to the regionals on Saturday morning. It was extremely messy out on Saturday morning, but we made it into Muncie anyways. Unfortunately, he got out in the first round at regionals, but I am still very proud of him making it that far. He has been working very hard to get this far. I am sure he will do even better next year.

Another Tooth Gone?

There goes another tooth. She must have some lower teeth that are wanting to come in, because she just lost her other bottom tooth. She was complaining of it hurting and I told her she was not going to lose another tooth so soon. Then I touched it and saw that it was loose, but still laughed it off and told her she would not lose another one so soon. I mean, come on...really...2 teeth in 2 days...that rarely happens. She started saying, "Please mommy, pull it. What if I want to eat something and it comes off..." Now she has every right to fear losing a tooth while eating, since her big sister, Dora, lost her first 2 teeth while eating and then swallowed them. So, I finally looked at her tooth again, moved it back and forth, just like I did last night with the other tooth and low and behold it fell out...just as easy as last night's tooth did. I am afraid she is going to think she is going to lose a tooth every day at this rate. She can't wait to set this tooth out for the tooth fairy...lol.

On another note...My keys have been found. No wonder I could not find them...Dwayne had them.

Toothless

Is it possible for my little girl who just turned 5 to really lose a tooth? Well, she did. Last night she was complaining about her tooth hurting. I tried touching it, thinking it might just be a cavity, then the next time I touched it was very loose...then the 3rd time I touched it, it just fell out into my hand. It is an itty-bitty tooth. She was very excited about losing her first tooth, she showed it to everyone. But I am still trying to come to grips with the fact that my youngest child lost her first tooth. It took Dora until she was 7 to lose her first tooth...this just seems so young for Tobi. She left her tooth in a jar for the tooth fairy and she received 5 quarters for her tooth...one quarter for each year of her age.

Ok...I need to clarify, tooth fairy only leaves the one quarter for each year on the FIRST tooth. It is simply just a couple of quarters for the teeth after that. Sorry PK, I think you lost your first tooth years ago, you better stop looking for those pliers...lol.

Back to Reality...

Well, I had a wonderful anniversary with my hubby. We went to the big city, spent the night, and had a fun day just hanging out together. We went to a really fancy restaurant on Friday night and it was fabulous. The food was so good, it was hard to even imagine eating anything else ever again. But then again, you do have to eat again and where else do you start a fun Saturday with no kids....Starbucks of course. After we got our coffee we walked around the fashion mall before the stores were actually open. That can be really quiet and relaxing...no huge crowds to fight. No wondering if I want to buy this or that, because...hey...the store isn't even open...lol. Dwayne and I did get some new stuff, I got new Doc Martens, my most favorite shoe...the shoes I live in practically, and Dwayne got some cool new boots. Finding shoes for Dwayne is always a challenge, he does not have small feet and most stores rarely carry his size or at least not much style in his size, but he did find a pair...a cool pair. All this before we had to come back home and pick up the kiddos. I owe a big thank you to Brian Cline for filling in at the A/V booth in a pinch on Saturday night. I got home too late to be there. He deserves a huge pat on the back for all he does.

Dwayne and I got home late Saturday night and some friends came over just to chill. They had a long day as well and the kids really enjoyed just hanging out together. Us adults tried our hand at an 80's music Scene It game. Wow...that was a lot harder than I thought it would be.

Today poor Dwayne was back to the grindstone working hard. Tomorrow I start back to the grindstone, back to the 6:30am wake up calls for the kiddos, back to a huge pile of laundry and then also cleaning out the messy piles I have hidden all over my house, since I still have not found my church keys...seriously, if anyone finds a set of keys with the 40 days of community bible verses on them, let me know...they might be mine.

PS. Thank you to everyone who wished us a Happy Anniversary!!!
